About Sharon

Born in Brazil to English parents, Sharon moved to London in 1989 to study fashion. She discovered yoga in 1997 whilst managing a very stressful job and after having her first child her passion for yoga took over and she did a 500hr YTT with Ruth White. She has since completed an Anatomy & Myofascial Movement 200hr Advanced Level course for Teachers with Gary Carter, Pranayama and Breathwork with Laurent Roure and more.

A serious hip injury before her yoga teaching days led to keyhole Labral Repair surgery in 2003 and 20 years later she has had a right Total Hip Replacement. Her surgeon confirmed that her yoga practice had kept her hip healthy whereas most Labral Tear patients would have needed the replacement within 10 years of the repair! Having worked very hard preparing for the surgery and during recovery, Sharon is now helping other people prepare, strengthen, avoid and/or recover from hip injury.

With both Iyengar and Scaravelli influences in her practice and a particular interest in anatomy, Sharon doesn’t teach one particular style of yoga, preferring to encourage students to experience and explore movement and postures through the release of tension and the use of the breath. Sharon teaches her students to listen to their bodies and take their yoga practice into their day to day life: they way they walk, sit, stand, move, to improve habitual patterns of movement and encourage balance and alignment through the body.

Classes are accessible to all ages, abilities and experience, and will encourage students to challenge themselves physically and mentally.
